With over INR 0.91 Million invested in 6 programs, Annapoorani Foundation’s Livelihood Support offers the urgent hand up required for recovery and independence, helping 18 families launch small businesses, recover from tragedy, or transition to new trades. Initiatives include skill training, capital grants, and long-term mentorship tailored to local opportunities.
The challenge
Sudden setbacks – illness, disasters, or job loss threaten the stability of low-income families, undermining both economic security and well-being. Limited access to credit, skills, or market connections often means minor shocks have outsized adverse impacts. Enduring poverty is compounded by lack of sustainable income sources.
Strategic approach
Annapoorani Foundation’s approach blends financial aid with hands-on guidance, market linkage, and skills training. Each recipient receives not just a grant, but business planning support and mentorship. Partnerships with local cooperatives and business incubators expand options and reduce the risk of failure. Impact tracking assesses income, satisfaction, and resilience for lasting progress.
